Low Energy Complex, India. 1992

Competition entry for a low energy complex to include 3590m2 of offices, a conference centre, 5860m2 of housing, a bio-mass plantation, demonstration area for low energy technologies, social facilities including schools, and an open air auditorium within a 10 acre site.

Historically developed strategies were incorporated to ameliorate the climate: water channels and the lowering of buildings into the ground.

Solar chimneys were also incorporated; the walls were aligned to minimise solar gain.
